Each OKR in Ally contains a progress bar to display its last identified progress.
Ally assesses progress is 2 ways, actual and expected.

Expected Progress

Ally calculates the expected progress line and % based on the time period given for the OKR. The graph below is found on every objectives detail view.

On the first day of the time period the expected progress would be 0%. On the final day of the time period the expected progress would be 100%.

Actual Progress

Actual Progress is determined when users update OKRs with Check-Ins, automatically via an integration or the upward cascading effect of Key Results.

For manual Check-Ins, a status must be chosen by the user, this will determine the color of the progress bar. The definitions of the colors can be found HERE.

You will see under the progress bar how and when the last update was made, % complete or KPI,  along with the notes left at the time of Check-In and who made the update.

When the status is manually set by a user (e.g. check-in and mark "On Track") the progress bar will contain that status.

When the status is being updated by Key Results or an integration, the system will determine a status for it.

Specific Determinations

If a Key Result of an Objective is marked as At Risk or Behind, the Objective will carry that same status.

If any one of the KRs is On Track the Objective status is On track

If all of the KRs are in Not Started the Objective status is Not Started

If all of the KRs are in Postponed the Objective status is Postponed

If all of the KRs are in Reopened the Objective status is Reopened

If one of the KRs is Done and other is Postponed the Objective status is Done

If one of the KRs is Postponed and other is Reopened the Objective status is Reopened

If one of the KRs is Postponed and another is Not started the Objective status is Not Started

If the Actual Progress of an integration is off by more than 25% from Expected Progress the indication will be that the OKR status is At Risk.

An Objective Status maybe marked as Unknown when:

  • When one of the key result is Done and other on not started/reopened
  • When one of the key result is Reopened and other on not started
